About The Position

The Assistant Teacher works with infants and toddlers at Primrose School at Oregon Park. This is a Monday–Friday closing-hours position, with a schedule of either 9:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. or 11:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. The classrooms are currently fully enrolled, and childcare is not available to employees.

The role focuses on building genuine relationships with children and supporting their learning and development in areas such as language and literacy, science, and life skills. The Assistant Teacher works with a co-teacher to implement lesson plans from the research-informed Balanced Learning® curriculum, maintains a well-kept classroom, and helps children explore and make decisions confidently.

Primrose provides daily plans, stocked classrooms, tools and training, and support from the Leadership Team to help create a safe, healthy environment and a culture where children and team members can thrive. Compensation is $12.00–$14.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Build genuine relationships with each child.
• Help children learn about language and literacy, science, life skills, and other topics.
• Work with a co-teacher to implement lesson plans from the Balanced Learning® curriculum.
• Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions confidently.
• Discover what works best for each child while teaching them about the world around them.
