About The Position

The Learning Experience is hiring an Assistant Teacher to support the care, learning, and development of infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children. Working with a Lead Teacher, the Assistant Teacher helps maintain a safe, engaging classroom and supports children throughout their daily routines and learning activities. The role includes creating a welcoming classroom, engaging children in age-appropriate learning and play, supporting classroom routines and individual needs, and building positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers. The Assistant Teacher also supports the L.E.A.P. Curriculum®, follows childcare licensing and safety requirements, helps prepare classroom materials, and contributes to a professional, family-focused environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Dependable, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
Must meet applicable state licensing, background screening, health, and training requirements.
Ability to supervise children by sight and sound; stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor; participate in indoor and outdoor activities; and safely lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Childcare, daycare, preschool, nanny, camp, babysitting, or teaching experience.
Early Childhood Education coursework or training.

Responsibilities

Create a welcoming classroom where children feel safe and supported.
Engage children in age-appropriate learning, play, and activities.
Build positive relationships with children and encourage communication, confidence, and social development.
Assist the Lead Teacher with lessons, activities, routines, and transitions.
Maintain active supervision and support children's safety.
Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, dressing, and other age-appropriate care.
Follow classroom procedures and center policies.
Help maintain a clean and organized classroom.
Work collaboratively with Lead Teachers and center leadership.
Support communication with families about children's daily experiences.
Treat children and families with patience, respect, and professionalism.
Assist with TLE's L.E.A.P. Curriculum® and classroom activities.
Follow childcare licensing, health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
Maintain supervision of children by sight and sound.
Prepare classroom materials and learning areas.
Participate in required training and professional development.
Welcome children and families each day and maintain TLE classroom and center standards.
