About The Position

Beacon Hill Schools is seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher for its Watkinsville, Athens, and Bogart locations. The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating a warm, nurturing, safe, and engaging classroom, bringing learning to life through hands-on activities and building meaningful connections with children and families. The role includes supporting daily lessons and routines using the Frog Street curriculum, assisting with caregiving, and helping children thrive in a supportive environment. The position offers opportunities to grow skills and contribute to a team serving children and families.

Requirements

GED or High School Diploma required.
At least 6 months of experience in a licensed childcare setting, or a strong desire to learn.
CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain it.
Must pass all required background checks and meet DECAL requirements.
Team-player attitude and love for working with children.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and stay actively engaged throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

CDA, TCC, or experience working toward an early childhood education credential preferred.

Responsibilities

Support the Lead Teacher in delivering daily lessons and routines using the Frog Street curriculum.
Assist with caregiving tasks, including diapering, toileting, and meal routines.
Help maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment.
Assist with classroom management and encourage positive behavior.
Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions.
Foster relationships with students and families through kind, professional interactions.
Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements and school policies.
