About The Position

The Assistant Supervisor will direct, supervise, and monitor Transportation Officers in all aspects of transportation operations, including administration, regulatory compliance, officer management, safety and security, customer service, trip efficiency, reporting requirements, risk management, asset management, and adherence to policy and procedures. This role communicates and supports the vision of TransCor America, LLC, ensuring alignment with TCA goals. The Assistant Supervisor guides and directs staff in the safe and orderly operation of the Field Office, promoting public safety, staff safety, and a secure and humane environment for inmates, detainees, and/or residents. They will conduct and assist in scheduling and planning required trip activity as directed by the Transportation Supervisor, and follow operational policies, procedures, and emergency plans to ensure proper operation consistent with federal/state law(s), TCA policy, CCA policy, and contractual obligations. The role involves effectively communicating responsibilities, authority, and accountability to direct subordinates, motivating staff, and planning/scheduling maintenance on equipment. The Assistant Supervisor attends staff meetings, promotes effective communication with management, staff, CCA officials, contracting agency representatives, and the public, and provides a positive work environment through mentoring, coaching, communication, and feedback. They will read, analyze, and interpret various documents and perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • 1 year minimum of Corrections, Security, Military Police, Police, Inmate/Detainee Transportation, or related experience
  • Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, interact tactfully, display maturity, and practice flexibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess valid Class B commercial driver's license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • Supervisor or Management experience in a related industry such as Corrections or Transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Direct, supervise and monitor the Transportation Officers in their performance regarding all aspects of transportation operations to include but not limited to: administration, regulatory compliance, officer management, safety and security, customer service, trip efficiency, reporting requirements, risk management, asset management, and adherence to policy and procedures.
  • Communicates and supports the vision of TransCor America, LLC and ensures alignment with TCA goals
  • Guides and directs staff in the safe and orderly operation of the Field Office in a manner that promotes public safety, staff safety and a secure and humane environment for inmates, detainees and/or residents.
  • Conduct and assists in the scheduling and planning of required trip activity as directed the by the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Follows operational policies, procedures and emergency plans to ensure the proper operation of the Field Office is consistent with federal/state law(s), TCA policy, CCA policy (as applicable) and contractual obligation(s).
  • Effectively communicates responsibilities, authority and accountability to all direct subordinates. Motivates and encourages staff to perform their duties consistent with policy and procedures.
  • Plans, schedules and conducts maintenance on equipment to include restraints, weapons, vehicles and as directed by the Transportation Supervisor.
  • Attends staff meetings as directed to maintain effective communication and consistency of operational effectiveness and efficiency. Promotes effective communications and the proper flow of relevant information to management, staff, CCA officials, contracting agency representatives (when required) and general public, using tact, diplomacy, understanding, fairness, firmness and good judgment.
  • Provides as positive work environment through mentoring, coaching, communication, and feedback. Keeps the Transportation Supervisor informed with on operational issues to include staff issues.
  • Read, analyze and interpret documents, handwritten text, correspondence, policies, technical procedures, governmental regulations, reports, directions for forms completion and other simple or moderately complex documents.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed and/or assigned.
