About The Position

The Arc of Ocean County is seeking a motivated and experienced professional to join our Adult Day Services team as an Assistant Supervisor at our Lakewood location. In this leadership role, you will help oversee daily program operations while supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence, vocational growth, and community participation. The Assistant Supervisor serves as a key support to program leadership by helping coordinate staff, monitor service delivery, and ensure individuals receive quality programming tailored to their goals and needs. This position offers an opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping participants develop meaningful life skills, employment readiness, and increased self-sufficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Special Education, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a direct support, vocational, or program setting.
  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing required, with no more than five (5) points.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting program operations, staff coordination, and service delivery.
  • Ability to successfully complete all required background screenings, onboarding requirements, and ongoing drug testing protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the oversight of daily operations within adult day and community-based programs.
  • Support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through vocational training, life skills instruction, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Help ensure services are delivered in accordance with individualized plans, goals, and program expectations.
  • Provide guidance and support to program staff while assisting with scheduling, task coordination, and day-to-day operations.
  • Review documentation and records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with implementing employment-focused initiatives and skill-building activities designed to increase independence and self-confidence.
  • Foster positive relationships with participants, families, employers, community partners, and funding or regulatory agencies.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages personal growth and achievement.
