About The Position

Rocky Point Golf Course is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to join their team. Rocky Point is part of a 5 golf course system operated by the Baltimore County Revenue Authority. Opened in 1971, it was designed by Russell Roberts to be a challenging yet fair test of golf, featuring natural wetlands and picturesque views. The course, while not excessively long, presents difficulty through elevation changes and strategic design. A new clubhouse is set to open this fall.

Requirements

• Three years of progressive golf course maintenance experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Maryland Pesticide Applicator Certification or ability to obtain.

Nice To Haves

• Certification or Degree in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
• Interest in the industry and willingness to pursue educational requirements (for assistant in training position).

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs turfgrass maintenance employees.
• Assists with hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
• Conducts daily crew meetings and work assignments.
• Promotes safe work practices and regulatory compliance.
• Assists in the implementation of turfgrass maintenance programs.
• Coordinates irrigation scheduling and water management activities.
• Oversees pesticide and fertilizer applications.
• Monitors turf conditions and recommends corrective actions.
• Assists in scheduling labor, equipment, and resources.
• Oversees course setup and tournament preparation.
• Coordinates maintenance projects and improvements.
• Assists with inventory management and purchasing.
• Maintains maintenance records and reports.
• Assists with budgeting and cost control efforts.
• Supports environmental compliance initiatives.
