Assistant Superintendent Community Reintegration Center (CRC) Full-time, Salary Salary Range: $94,432 - $141,648/yr This position has a 24/7 on-call requirement Position Summary: The Assistant Superintendent supports the Superintendent in managing and overseeing correctional facility operations. The role focuses on maintaining safe, secure, efficient, and humane facility operations through oversight of security, compliance, staffing, and strategic initiatives. This position serves as an executive leadership role within the correctional facility and may act on behalf of the Superintendent during emergencies, operational incidents, and periods of absence. The position requires independent judgment, strategic decision-making, and the ability to manage complex correctional operations in a dynamic environment. Work Schedule: This position will typically work Monday-Friday but evenings, weekends, and/or holidays may be required as needed. In addition, this position has a 24/7 on-call requirement.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required and must be maintained throughout employment
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Public Administration, Sociology, Psychology or in a closely related field AND five (5) years or more of work experience in Correctional Operations, Jail or Detention Administration required OR High School Diploma AND ten (10) years or more of progressive work experience in Correctional Operations, Jail or Detention Administration to include 3 years of experience at a senior level required
  • Five (5) years or more of work experience in a Management or Director role required
  • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 10 lbs.
  • Able and willing to comply with an on-call (24/7) requirement

Responsibilities

  • Directs and oversees daily correctional operations to ensure institutional safety, security, compliance, and continuity of operations.
  • Supervises command staff and operational supervisors; manages staffing, scheduling oversight, employee performance, discipline, and leadership development.
  • Oversees compliance with ACA, PREA, NCCHC, county, state, and federal standards. Assists with audits, inspections, investigations, and policy development.
  • Supports classification, behavioral management, disciplinary processes, reentry initiatives, and coordination of institutional programming.
  • Assists with budget administration, overtime management, resource allocation, operational reporting, strategic planning, and performance metrics.
  • Coordinates with courts, law enforcement, contractors, community organizations, healthcare providers, and external stakeholders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
