About The Position

Supports the Construction Manager and Project Manager by performing duties such as project site coordination, field coordination, construction quality control, documentation of progress and other tasks as defined by the AMP project teams. Aids the Manager, Construction and Project Manager to ensure that the work being installed by the Contractors is per the drawings and specifications, using sound construction practices and good quality workmanship. Supervises daily management of specific project sites including coordinating activities between the various contractors, subcontractors, and the various park operating departments (Operations, Security, Food & Beverage, Merchandise, etc.). Provides on-site inspection and documents about what resources the contractor and subcontractor are providing on site in daily reports. This includes but is not limited to ensuring the latest drawings, specifications and Universal’s environmental, occupational health and safety procedures are being followed and that the facilities being built are dimensionally accurate. Ensure quality work from all contractors, subcontractors, and vendors while meeting cost and schedule requirements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Technical Theme Park or Construction experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school: 2 years construction, engineering or architecture and an additional 2+ years of field experience is required OR Associate’s degree in Construction, Engineering or Architecture and an additional 2+ years of field experience OR Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of construction management, engineering, or architecture degree with some on site experience (internship or other work experience) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and documenting issues affecting the smooth operation of the job site including cleanliness, order, coordination, efficiency, and productivity for the Construction Manager/Project Manager.
  • Identifying solutions to field issues that may inhibit project schedule.
  • Addressing questions and concerns from contractors/vendors by reviewing drawings to determine if requests meet drawing requirements.
  • Coordination of inspections, job site meetings, daily reports, interpreting plans and monitoring materials to efficiently complete the project in the field.
  • Walking Inspectors through the site and answering questions.
  • Assisting the AMP Project Team to manage quality control and monitoring the contractors and subcontractors’ schedules.
  • Maintaining record documents of daily, weekly, and monthly reports; of contractor, consultant, and owner activities, including significant project events and milestones.
  • Providing construction support (safety and quality) support to the Attraction Development project team.
  • Direction and disciplinary supervision of Contractors/Vendors.
  • Reviewing and identifying conflicts in structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical in the field or on the drawings and specification document, and documenting them for Manager, Construction or Project Manager to address.
  • Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
