Assistant Store Manager
About The Position
The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for organizing all store operations and allocating responsibilities to personnel. This role involves maintaining accurate product inventory, managing backstock, and overseeing a team of retail associates. The Assistant Store Manager will also be involved in creating schedules, preparing and controlling the store's budget, and handling customer complaints to maintain the store's reputation. Additionally, this position requires analyzing sales and revenue reports, ensuring safety guidelines are met, and contributing to a positive work environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management, with a strong background in sales and customer service.
- Ability to effectively manage cash handling, cash registers, and inventory control.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
- Experience in negotiating with vendors and managing vendor relationships.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment with a focus on customer service and sales growth.

Responsibilities
- Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel.
- Maintain an up-to-date product inventory sheets and pick lists.
- Maintain backstock in a neat, clean and organized manner.
- Interview, select candidates, and oversee a team of retail associates.
- Create and maintaining the schedule for all retail associates.
- Delegate responsibilities to retail associates.
- Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance.
- Prepare and control the store’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency.
- Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they stay within budget.
- Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store’s reputation.
- Inspect the areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise.
- Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays.
- Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store.
- Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.
- Ensure the store fulfills all safety guidelines.
- Contribute to a positive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
