About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail store operations to support sales and profitability. The role supports merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources activities, and outstanding customer service. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a standard work week not to exceed 40 hours.

Requirements

• At least one year of retail management experience.
• Solid knowledge of business and excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential situations.
• Ability to think strategically, plan, and organize effectively.
• Professionalism in all situations.
• Proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
• Results-driven approach and critical and creative thinking skills.
• Project management, time management, analytical, and strong organizational skills.

• Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with flexibility.
• Reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the quality and performance of retail store staff.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Model effective leadership to gain commitment to store goals and training standards.
• Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and development of store personnel.
• Assist the Store Manager with and provide feedback on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
• Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help the store perform within budget.
• Help monitor and identify loss or inventory inconsistencies and support achievement of shrink goals at or below company plan.
• Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
• Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
• Uphold customer service standards and provide a friendly environment so customers receive outstanding service.
• Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
