About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in maintaining daily retail store operations and supporting maximum sales and profitability through merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources management, and outstanding customer service. The role is responsible for the quality and performance of store staff, supports company policy compliance and operational standards, and helps the store meet its budget and shrink goals. The position requires a flexible schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a standard workweek not exceeding 40 hours. The employee may work in multiple stores in the assigned district.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid business knowledge and excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential situations.
Ability to think strategically, plan, and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven critical and creative thinking, project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.
Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.
Ability to execute directives with precision and consistency.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Be responsible for the overall quality and performance of retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to gain commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager with annual employee performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help stores perform within budget.
Help monitor and identify loss or inventory inconsistencies so the store achieves shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Uphold customer service standards and provide a friendly environment in which customers receive outstanding service.
Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
