About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in the daily operations of a retail store, helping achieve maximum sales and profitability through merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources management, and outstanding customer service. The role oversees staff performance, supports compliance with company policies and standards, contributes to recruiting and employee development, and helps manage expenses and inventory. The standard work week does not exceed 40 hours. A flexible schedule is required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The role may require work at multiple stores in the assigned district, travel, and extended hours during critical project phases.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid knowledge of business and excellent English communication skills for interacting with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Analytical ability to gather and summarize data for reports, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven approach with critical and creative thinking skills.
Project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Support the quality and performance of the retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to gain commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager and provide feedback on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help stores perform within budget.
Help monitor and identify issues involving store loss or inconsistencies, supporting shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support training employees in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Ensure customer service standards are upheld and customers receive outstanding service in a friendly environment.
Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
