About The Position

The Full-Time Associate assists the store management team with daily store operations, including providing excellent customer service, driving sales, merchandising, and other responsibilities assigned by management. Work is expected to be performed professionally, courteously, reliably, and with a results-oriented approach. The role builds customer relationships, helps customers select appropriate products, maintains merchandise and store standards, supports operational compliance and loss prevention, and helps maintain an orderly sales environment.

A standard work week consists of a minimum of 35 hours and a maximum of 40 hours. The associate must have open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs, and may be asked to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.

Requirements

• Excellent command of English to communicate effectively with management, customers, and other employees.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work under minimal supervision, including taking charge of the store when necessary.
• Open availability and flexibility to meet customer demand and business needs.
• Basic fashion and style trend knowledge and a desire to work with customers in a retail setting.
• Proven ability to build and work as part of a team, handle responsibility, and understand the needs of the street lifestyle customer.
• Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not necessary.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build customer relationships and assist customers professionally, courteously, attentively, honestly, and responsively.
• Identify customer needs and provide knowledgeable assistance in selecting products.
• Apply basic fashion and trend knowledge to recommend appropriate merchandise while maintaining DTLR standards.
• Assist with shipments, merchandising, restocking, and pricing.
• Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude toward the job and company.
• Comply with and enforce company policies.
• Participate in service training and product programs.
• Assist the Store Manager in identifying store losses or inconsistencies and help ensure shrink is at or below company plan.
• Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
• Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
• Minimize inventory shrinkage by protecting the store against shoplifting and internal theft, and follow loss prevention and security procedures.
• Follow proper point-of-sale procedures, balance money taken in during an assignment, and work with store management to investigate discrepancies.
• Keep management informed of important developments, potential problems, and other information needed for effective management.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly sales environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
