About The Position

Dollar Tree is seeking a part-time Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. The role assists with daily store activities, merchandise handling and presentation, opening and closing procedures, compliance with corporate directives, record keeping, loss prevention, asset protection, store cleanliness, and associate supervision and development. The Assistant Store Manager helps maintain a positive, safe, respectful, and professional environment for customers and employees, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives, such as merchandise schematics.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and meet the physical demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Store management experience in a retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery trucks to the stockroom and sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
Process corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests, and other communications related to store activities.
Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
Assist with merchandise ordering, damaged merchandise processing, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits, and receipts), and loss prevention.
Maintain the sales floor and stockroom according to company standards.
Protect and secure company assets, including store cash.
Follow safety guidelines and company policies and procedures, and ensure store associates do the same.
Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
Promote a positive, safe, and respectful environment and maintain professional, friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
