About The Position

Assistant Store Managers support the Store Manager in developing and coaching the store team while helping deliver Lidl’s customer shopping experience. The role involves taking ownership of store performance, providing proactive leadership, addressing operational and personnel challenges, managing multiple tasks and projects, and identifying employee training and development needs. The position focuses on providing customers with high-quality, low-price, and hassle-free shopping. The Assistant Store Manager works directly with the Store Manager to lead and motivate the team, serves as the lead contact for customer needs, and monitors store performance indicators. The role also includes leading promotional and merchandising projects and providing hands-on support with daily store operations. The Assistant Store Manager helps maintain a safe, positive, and productive work environment in accordance with company and legal policies and procedures.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.
1–2 years of management experience or a bachelor’s degree.
Determination to complete tasks on time, meet store targets, and maximize productivity.
Experience leading and developing a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent customer service skills, including patience and the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
Readiness to participate daily in physical store operations, including stocking, cleaning, and ringing.
Ability to lift, move, carry, or slide product weighing over 50 pounds.
Ability to reach above the head to heights greater than 10 inches.
Ability to obtain and maintain ServSafe certification.

Responsibilities

Work directly with the Store Manager to lead and motivate the team to work to their full potential.
Provide excellent customer service throughout the store and act as the lead point of contact for customer needs.
Monitor and drive continuous improvement of store Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Lead team projects, including weekly promotional store sets and routine re-merchandising.
Provide hands-on support for operational tasks, including cash management, working stock, cleaning, and other essential store functions.
Ensure a safe, positive, and productive working environment for store employees based on company and legal policies and procedures.
Develop and coach the store team and prioritize employee development.
