About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in leading a customer-focused, sales-driven, profitable, and productive store. The role inspires and motivates the team through Pacsun’s core values, helps ensure store KPIs are achieved, and holds associates accountable for following company policies and procedures. The Assistant Store Manager supports an engaging and authentic customer experience, store operations, visual presentation, merchandise flow, and a clean, safe shopping and working environment. The role coaches and recognizes associates, delegates tasks, supports hiring and talent development, and builds collaborative relationships while serving as a leader of company culture. This is a full-time position requiring 32–40 hours per week and flexibility to work weekends, nights, and peak holiday periods. The job involves frequent lifting and moving of up to 20 pounds and occasional lifting and moving of up to 35 pounds, as well as extended periods of sitting or standing, climbing ladders, and moving around the sales floor, stockroom, and office.

Requirements

Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Proficiency in math and strong computer skills.
Ability to balance a strong management presence with approachability and encourage associate feedback and interaction.
Ability to work 32–40 hours per week and a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and peak holiday periods.
Frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Frequently sit or stand for long periods and climb ladders as needed.
Ability to maneuver around sales floor, stockroom, and office areas.
Ability to work in an open environment with fluctuating temperatures and standard lighting.
Required vision abilities include close and distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Maintain a customer-focused mindset and ensure team members deliver an engaging, positive, and authentic customer experience.
Handle customer situations according to policies and procedures, attempt to resolve issues, and escalate them as appropriate.
Maintain clean, organized store and stockroom areas and promote a safe working and shopping environment.
Share customer feedback with the leadership team to improve the customer experience.
Act as floor supervisor as needed, including during non-peak periods and breaks.
Hold self and others accountable for completing operational tasks.
Coach associates and provide feedback on Sales Associate performance.
Support associate engagement by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance.
Direct associates so they understand company directives and standards.
Prioritize and delegate tasks to meet operational needs.
Support and execute visual directives and maintain company visual standards.
Improve efficiency in store operational processes.
Maintain merchandise flow, filling, and presentation standards throughout the store and stockroom.
Ensure store associates follow company policies, procedures, and Safety Program practices.
Demonstrate passion and affinity for Pacsun products, brands, fashion, and trends.
Recruit, identify, develop, and retain talent.
Develop cross-functional partnerships and promote transparency, collaboration, and accountability.
Serve as a Pacsun advocate in the industry and marketplace and as a leader of company culture, norms, and conduct.
