Assistant Store Manager
About The Position
As an Assistant Store Manager at AutoZone, you will support daily store operations, energize team performance, and drive sales in a fast-paced retail environment. You will help shape store success and develop future talent through strong leadership, clear communication, and a commitment to WOW! customer service. The role also includes supporting store operations when the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is absent, maintaining efficient workflows and compliance with company standards, and helping provide a clean, organized, and visually appealing shopping environment.
Requirements
- Basic automotive parts knowledge.
- Proven leadership experience, with strong communication, decision-making, and sales-driving skills.

- Ability to foster a positive work culture focused on development and results.
- Proficiency in managing, analyzing, and reconciling Profit & Loss statements.
- Ability to lift, load, and deliver merchandise safely and accurately.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs arise.

- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager with recruiting, supervising, scheduling, training, and developing store personnel.
- Promote clear and effective communication with employees and customers.
- Help meet sales targets, maintain accurate inventory levels, and optimize cash flow.
- Oversee store operations and ensure efficient workflows and compliance with company standards when the Store Manager or Commercial Sales Manager is absent.
- Ensure customers receive WOW! service, proactively resolve concerns, and turn complaints into positive experiences.
- Lead company initiatives that support productivity, employee training and retention, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain effective merchandising and a clean, organized, visually appealing shopping environment.
- Enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) use, promote workplace safety, and assist with risk management.
- Support budgeting, analyze Profit & Loss statements, and monitor expense controls to maximize profitability.
