About The Position

The Office of the State Attorney, 18th Judicial Circuit is seeking an Assistant State Attorney. This position involves prosecutorial criminal casework, conducting legal research and writing, and preparing cases for prosecution through depositions and witness interviews. Trial work includes case preparation, jury selection, examining and cross-examining witnesses, opening statements, and closing arguments. The role requires proficient management of casework and the ability to use office computer software and equipment.

Requirements

  • Possess a law degree from an accredited law school
  • Member of The Florida Bar in good standing
  • Knowledge of criminal laws and procedures
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload
  • Commitment to public service and protecting the rights of victims
  • Knowledge and ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both oral and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • The ability to efficiently multitask in a fast-paced environment and present a professional and helpful demeanor.
  • Microsoft Office experience including Word and Excel.
