About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to join its Intercollegiate Athletics team. This role involves assisting the head coach in training the varsity softball team for nationally competitive intercollegiate competition. This position is exempt from overtime provisions.

Requirements

Must have a Bachelor’s degree
Coaching experience at the college or high school level is required
Must have valid driver’s license
All final candidates to these appointments are required to complete an Authorization to Release Information and provide contact information for their previous institutions.

Responsibilities

Train varsity softball team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level.
Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game plans.
Maintain and increase knowledge of women’s softball training and coaching techniques.
Supervise the training, development, and placement of staff personnel.
Evaluate prospective student-athletes.
Develop and maintain correspondence for prospective student-athletes.
Schedule, coordinate and supervise official and unofficial visits of prospective student athletes.
Monitor academic performance of student-athletes.
Counsel student-athletes.
Ensure compliance with all UCCS and NCAA regulations regarding academic eligibility.
Assist head coach with planning and coordinating Division II schedule within NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and institutional guidelines.
Assist head coach with planning and coordinating team travel and lodging.
