About The Position
Chatham University welcomes applications for the position of Assistant Softball Coach in our Athletics Department. The Assistant Softball Coach supports the Head Softball Coach in all aspects of the softball program, including student-athlete recruitment, player development, practice and game preparation, compliance, and program administration. This position plays a key role in fostering a positive student-athlete experience while promoting academic achievement, athletic excellence, leadership development, and adherence to institutional and NCAA standards. The Assistant Coach serves as an ambassador for the softball program and the university, representing the department both on campus and in the community.
Requirements
- College coaching experience
- In-depth knowledge of fast pitch Softball
- Able to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to communicate with college aged student athletes
Nice To Haves
- Ability to hit ground balls and fly balls a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, implementing and following up on recruitment.
- Assist in coordinating athletic planning, program development and assessment of student athletes’ performance, retention, personal development and leadership development.
- Assist in overseeing resource management.
- Assist in supporting campus endeavors and coordinating athletic events to enhance campus community and school pride.
- Assist in ensuring adherence to University, NCAA, and PAC regulations and policies.
- Represent the athletics staff at on-campus events for softball.
- Represent the athletics staff at recruiting events and high school contests for softball.
