About The Position

Assist in coaching, recruiting, counseling, conditioning, and training the intercollegiate softball team. This role reports to the Head Softball Coach. Duties may include coaching the softball team, utilizing coaching and teaching methods to develop student-athletes' skills and teamwork, assisting with the development of team strategy, analyzing performance of student-athletes, scouting and recruiting student-athletes, assisting in fundraising activities to subsidize the athletic program, and assisting in marketing and public relations activities to promote the program. The role may also involve supervising students and/or providing functional guidance of support staff or other employees who work on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis. Related duties are performed as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Administration, or related field and three months of experience coaching softball. Or a combination of coaching and playing experience at the professional or collegiate level equivalent to a total of four years.
  • National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Mid-American Conference (MAC) rules and regulations
  • Training or instructing student-athletes
  • Interpersonal communication
  • Basic computer skills
  • Analyze situations and develop solutions
  • Travel and work non-traditional hours

  • Collegiate playing and/or coaching experience.

Responsibilities
