About The Position

Milani Cosmetics is seeking a highly organized, creative, and social-first Assistant Social Media Manager to support the day-to-day execution of our owned social channels. As Milani brings its owned and organic social strategy fully in-house, this role will be instrumental in managing our publishing calendar, executing daily social posting, engaging with our community, and creating authentic social-first content. Reporting to the Social Media Marketing Manager, you'll help bring Milani's brand to life across Instagram and TikTok while supporting additional owned channels. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who lives on social media, loves beauty, understands platform culture, and enjoys balancing organization with creativity. The ideal candidate is equal parts project manager, content creator, and community builder.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience managing owned social media for a brand, publisher, or agency
• Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and short-form video best practices
• Experience with social media management platforms such as Sprout Social, Dash Hudson, Later, Nectar Social or similar publishing tools
• Experience creating and editing short-form video content using native platform tools and mobile editing apps such as CapCut
• Excellent copywriting skills with strong attention to detail
• Highly organized with exceptional project management and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities

Responsibilities

• Manage Milani's day-to-day owned social publishing across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and other emerging platforms
• Own the social publishing calendar, ensuring content is scheduled accurately and published on time
• Coordinate cross-functionally with Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Creative, PR, Influencer Marketing, and E-commerce teams to gather assets, approvals, and launch information
• Execute daily posting, including captions, hashtags, tagging, link management, and platform-specific optimization
• Maintain and organize the content library to ensure assets are easily accessible for publishing
• Support the Social Media Manager in building and maintaining monthly content calendars aligned with product launches, campaigns, cultural moments, and evergreen content
• Stay current on platform best practices, trends, algorithm updates, and new features to recommend tactical improvements
• Manage daily community engagement across Milani's social channels by responding to comments, direct messages, and customer inquiries in a timely, authentic, and brand-appropriate voice
• Foster meaningful conversations with our community while escalating customer service issues when appropriate
• Proactively engage with creators, fans, and relevant beauty conversations to strengthen Milani's community presence
• Monitor community sentiment and surface emerging trends, feedback, and opportunities to internal teams
• Film and edit UGC-style content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, Stories, and other short-form formats
• Capture behind-the-scenes moments, product demonstrations, event coverage, office content, and trend-driven videos
• Partner with the Creative team to adapt campaign assets into platform-native social content
• Bring forward fresh ideas for social-first content that feels authentic to each platform while reinforcing Milani's brand positioning
• Monitor content performance and identify opportunities to optimize future posts
• Assist with monthly reporting by compiling platform metrics, content performance, and key learnings
• Track competitor activity, emerging trends, and best-in-class beauty social content to inspire future programming
