About The Position

Homes by Avi is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Site Superintendent. Homes by Avi has been building family homes since 1978, with home building divisions in Alberta and Austin, Texas. You will work directly under the leadership of the Construction Manager to support the Site Superintendents in managing the construction and scheduling of each home on a day-to-day basis.

Requirements

• 2+ years of direct experience in construction, preferably as an Assistant Site Superintendent, Labourer or equivalent
• The ability to work with your hands and perform strenuous physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and working outdoors in all seasons
• Great communication skills, including the ability to get your point across and ask pertinent questions
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities within time constraints
• Confident conflict resolution abilities
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Personal tools and steel-toe work boots

Nice To Haves

• Direct experience in residential construction or renovations

Responsibilities

• Assist the Site Superintendents with the efficient and cost effective construction of homes in your community while maintaining established production schedules
• Ensure efficient site management, adherence to safety, and site cleanliness for all home sites in your assigned area
• Perform deficiency repairs, assist with quality control checklists while having the ability to work efficiently and independently
• Responsible for ensuring sites are ready for the next scheduled trade, including painting, drywall repairs, and building ramps, stairs or landings
• Completing labour intensive tasks required to maintain safe site access, including snow removal, pressure washing and debris clean-up
• Foster effective trade and supplier relationships
• Manage customer expectations and liaise with the Sales and Customer Relations teams to address concerns during the home building process
• Efficiently complete all tasks as assigned by the Site Superintendent or the Construction Manager
