About The Position

Messing Roofing & Construction is seeking an ambitious contract Assistant Site Superintendent to help lead the construction of a large multifamily development in Crystal Lake, Illinois. This is a unique opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced Site Superintendent/Project Manager while managing the installation of complete exterior building envelope systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional who wants to grow into a Superintendent role and take ownership of increasingly complex projects.

Requirements

3–10 years of construction field experience
Experience with multifamily, commercial, or large residential construction
Ability to read plans, specifications, and shop drawings
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proficiency with construction technology and project documentation
OSHA 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain)

Nice To Haves

Understanding of building envelope systems preferred

Responsibilities

Assist the Site Superintendent in daily field operations
Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and deliveries
Monitor production schedules and project milestones
Conduct daily site walks and quality inspections
Enforce jobsite safety requirements and company standards
Identify and resolve field issues before they impact schedule
Track manpower, productivity, and progress reporting
Verify installations meet manufacturer specifications and project requirements
Coordinate inspections and punch list activities
Maintain organized project documentation and field reports
Build strong working relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and inspectors
