About The Position

Children of America (COA) is seeking an Assistant School Director to be responsible for carrying out the daily tasks and duties of management, including leading a staff of talented educators and the execution of educational programming for all programs, from Infant care through School Age. The Assistant School Director will work directly under a School Director in leading teachers and support staff in a supportive environment where growth and passion for early childhood education are encouraged. The program serves preschool children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age, with programs including Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before and After Care, and Summer Camp. This position interacts daily with parents, the School Director, teaching staff, support staff, assigned operations personnel, facilities, custodial teams, and a regional support team.

Requirements

  • Minimum Associate's Degree or a Child Development Associate (CDA).
  • 12 ECE/Child development/School-Age credit hours, 6 admin/management credit hours.
  • 4 or Directors' Leadership Academy I & II, 30 hours job-related training.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience in a licensed childcare facility.
  • Advanced knowledge in early childhood education.
  • Flexible in challenging situations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to build strong relationships.
  • Commitment to professional development.
  • Effective decision maker.
  • Proficient in the use of technology, including industry applications, MS Office 365; Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Must meet state requirements.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability and willingness to drive and/or travel up to 10% of the time for training, professional development, and organizational meetings.
