About The Position

The Assistant Scheduler supports the Scheduler with planning and preparation of production schedules for the manufacture of precast/prestressed concrete products. This role involves planning and scheduling multiple precast projects at the plant level, providing periodic review of schedules, recommending corrective actions for projects behind schedule, and presenting schedules to project managers and senior management. The Assistant Scheduler also serves as a liaison between departments, coordinates special projects, and assists with the scheduling of plant production on a daily, weekly, and long-range basis.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Four years related experience preferred
  • Two years previous industry specific scheduling experience or 3-5 years of industry specific production experience in a supervisory role

Responsibilities

  • Planning and scheduling of multiple precast projects at the plant level
  • Periodic review of schedules and preparation of narratives
  • Recommending corrective actions for projects behind schedule
  • Presenting schedules to project managers and senior management
  • Serving as a liaison between departments
  • Coordinating special projects as requested
  • Assisting with the scheduling of plant production on a daily, weekly, and long-range basis
  • Maintaining and updating the long-range production schedule for future plant work
  • Scheduling production 6 weeks ahead as accurately as possible
  • Verifying production daily for billing purposes using internet-based software
  • Obtaining project management and erection sequence or direction and preparing a production sequence from this data
  • Scheduling beds as efficiently as possible to cut down on material and labor costs to streamline overall efficiency
  • Receiving and distributing shop tickets
  • Maintaining job files containing take-offs, job information sheets, and any engineering-approved deviations from the shop tickets
  • Acting as a point of contact between engineering, drafting, project management, the field, and the plant’s operation group
  • Ensuring the plant meets all contractual obligations and schedules
  • Facilitating and/or participating in weekly scheduling and production meetings
  • Entering piece mark data into the finished goods system (dimensions, codes, yardage, etc.)
  • Adhering to all Metromont and OSHA safety regulations and policies
