About The Position

Spiegelworld is looking for an experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join the team at Superfrico at the Cosmopolitan. The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for ensuring a smooth flow of service through various tasks which include assisting customers and staff, ensuring prompt resolution of guest inquiries, and monitoring employees' performance. This position reports to the General Manager. This is a full time position that pays $60,000 / year.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years working in a high-end bar or restaurant
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in English.
  • Willingness to work late in the evening and on weekends, holidays
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Passionate about guest service and delivering the best guest experience each and every time.
  • Ability to initiate conversations with others in a polished, professional manner.
  • Respond to inquiries from fellow employees and/or guests.
  • Work calmly and efficiently under pressure.
  • Effectively assist with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring diplomacy, tact, friendliness, poise and firmness.
  • Exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative attitude and a can-do approach to any request.
  • A highly motivated and energetic personality with a strong commitment to excellence in hospitality.
  • Successful reference checks, drug test, and background check clearance prior to hire.
  • Must have valid work authorization for the US
  • At least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in training, leading, motivating, coaching front of the house employees to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met.
  • Responsible for assigning side work and inspecting that side work is complete before employees go home.
  • Actively engage in our antiracist commitment and internal practices by participating in offered learnings, engaging in conversations around Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility, and helping us maintain a safe and welcoming workspace.
  • Create a work environment which promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction.
  • Oversee the organization, efficiency and policies pertaining to service in the dining room
  • Responsible for communicating daily changes that pertain to the shift (new menu items, price change, etc.)
  • Responsible for conducting shift briefings
  • Responsible for updating associate Attendance records
  • Responsible for strong floor presence and table touching
  • Responsible for closing report
  • Input work orders for items that require repairs
  • Supervise in terms of cleaning and repairs to the restaurant including performing daily inspections and periodic audits to check safety of equipment.
  • Be visible in the operation, actively participating in service meetings, and daily operations.
  • Work on the restaurant floor during dinner hours, the floor comes first before any other duties.
  • Resolve complaints from guests in a polite, friendly manner.
  • Ensure the restaurant looks, smells, and feels good (lighting, temperature, bathrooms, cleanliness, and seating arrangements) by doing walk through of all of our spaces at the beginning and the end of each shift.
  • Assist with duties of other employees (i.e. server, food runner, etc.) when necessary because of an unexpected absence or extra volume.
  • Promote cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale among employees.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
