About The Position

For nearly 65 years, Brightway Living and Learning has been a leading agency providing a full spectrum of care for over 1,600 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our Direct Service Professionals (DSPs) are the heart of our mission, providing compassionate and individualized support. As an Assistant Residential Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities while assisting in the day-to-day operations of a residential program. You will work closely with individuals and staff members, helping to ensure quality care and support services are provided, fostering independence, promoting well-being, and encouraging community inclusion. In this role, you will also assist with staff supervision, scheduling, program operations, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both residents and team members. Requirements

  • A valid NYS Driver’s License for 18+ months with a clean driving history.
  • Successful completion of Brightway’s Transportation Orientation.
  • One year of DSP experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with overseeing the daily operations of an adult residential program, ensuring a safe, supportive, and structured environment for the individuals we serve.
  • Support and guide Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) by providing leadership, coaching, and shift support while helping maintain staffing coverage and program compliance.
  • Provide hands-on assistance with personal care, meal preparation, transportation, medication administration support, and community outings as needed.
  • Foster independence and social inclusion by helping individuals build daily living skills, achieve personal goals, and participate in meaningful community activities.
  • Collaborate with Residential Managers, clinical teams, families, and staff to ensure high-quality care, effective communication, and continuity of support.
