About The Position

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York is seeking an Assistant Residence Manager for its Pleasantvale IRA in Tivoli, NY. This role is responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and implementation of the residence program for adults with developmental disabilities. The Assistant Residence Manager will oversee intellectually and developmentally disabled adults, partnering with them to facilitate daily care, enhance personal development, foster self-esteem, and meet or exceed individualized goals. The position offers the opportunity to gain supervisory and program management experience, develop leadership skills for advancement to a House Manager position, and make a significant difference in the lives of individuals served.

Requirements

  • HS diploma/GED with one year of related experience.
  • Valid NY Driver's License.
  • Flexibility, patience, energy, creativity, and a sense of humor.
  • Strong passion for working with and helping children and adults with special needs.
  • Pre-employment physical required.
  • Significant and frequent amounts of walking, sitting, stooping, bending & standing required.
  • Frequent planned, outside activities causing exposure to sunlight and heat.
  • Speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate effectively by phone or in person at normal volumes.
  • Vision adequate to read correspondence, computer screen, forms, etc.
  • Good manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree or Associates degree with one (1) year of related experience preferred.
