The HEDCO Institute for Evidence-Based Educational Practice is a research and outreach unit within the University of Oregon (UO) College of Education (COE), aiming to bridge the gap between educational research and practice. The Institute conducts living systematic reviews and develops translational products based on rigorous evidence synthesheses to meet the immediate decision-making needs of educational leaders. The work involves a collaborative team of faculty and staff, working with affiliated faculty and an external advisory board. The Institute also provides training and experience to students. The HEDCO Institute functions as a central research and outreach unit within the COE's Dean's Office, supporting the college's success and external partnerships. The Assistant Research Professor will conduct living systematic reviews within the Institute's meta-analytic research domain (MARD) focusing on school-based mental health prevention for K-12 students. This role involves leading overview of reviews and meta-analysis projects, including study selection, data collection, critical appraisal, quantitative synthesis, and evidence surveillance. The position also includes developing rapid response briefs for educators and other stakeholders, requiring demonstrated knowledge of research synthesis methods and experience with overviews of reviews, living systematic reviews, and scoping reviews. A clear program of research and scholarship related to evidence synthesis and youth mental health prevention in schools is necessary. The Assistant Research Professor will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to conduct evidence synthesis projects and translate findings for diverse audiences through various formats. This position will also coordinate with project staff and investigators to develop new project proposals, including grants and contracts, and may involve advising and mentoring students and staff. This is a twelve-month Career Faculty position in the Research Professor category, guided by COE policies and the United Academics’ Collective Bargaining Agreement. The position has the potential to be fully or partially remote.
