About The Position
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders (UNC CEED) is seeking candidates for a fixed-term Research Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychiatry. The candidate will dedicate the majority of their time to research, focusing on an active program of externally funded research (K- or R- level or equivalent) and pursuing publication in scholarly venues. The role also involves providing a training environment for PhD students and post-doctoral fellows, supervising behavioral health trainees (including clinical psychology interns and psychiatry residents), and delivering lectures to medical students and trainees. The position includes participation in the CEED Summer Research Fellow program, mentoring junior investigators. Clinical responsibilities may involve assessment and treatment services for children and families in inpatient and outpatient settings. The successful candidate will contribute to the future vision and direction of CEED, with a passion for advancing eating disorder science. CEED is recognized for its excellence in research, treatment, and training in eating disorders, aiming to deepen the understanding of causes and develop effective diagnostic, treatment, and prevention strategies.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Dedicate the majority of time to research, pursuing an active program of externally funded research (K- or R- level or equivalent).
- Actively and effectively pursue and achieve publication in appropriate scholarly venues.
- Offer a rich training environment for PhD students and post-doctoral fellows.
- Provide training and supervision of behavioral health trainees (including clinical psychology interns and psychiatry residents).
- Deliver lectures to medical students and trainees in psychology, psychiatry, pediatrics, and other specialties.
- Participate in the CEED Summer Research Fellow program, mentoring promising junior investigators.
- Conduct clinical responsibilities, which may include assessment and treatment services to children and families in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Contribute to the future vision and direction of CEED.
- Advance the science of eating disorders.
