About The Position

Reporting to the Associate Registrar for Graduation Evaluation, Commencement, and Special Population, the Assistant Registrar works with students to process department approved exceptions and overrides, communicates with students, departments, and advisors regarding outstanding degree requirements, and evaluates graduation candidates for degree completion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a higher education setting.
  • Ability to work with MS Office suite products (including excel) and the Google suite of products
  • Working knowledge of FERPA and state guidelines for record keeping.
  • Ability and skills to understand policies and processes.
  • Understanding when to direct problems to the supervisor.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrate strong team leadership, teamwork skills and work ethic.

  • Ability and willingness to learn and use new SIS and Curriculum systems.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate candidates for degree completion. This includes all auditing, credit adjustments, communication with students and advisors.
  • Communication with academic departments regarding student issues toward graduation.
  • Certify graduation candidates for degree.
  • Represent University at conferences, meetings, seminars and to the public as required.
  • Conduct training seminars for students or faculty as needed.
  • Provide feedback and advice as requested in pursuit of process improvements.
  • Establish and coordinate responsibilities with other staff organizations that relate to, or impact assigned functions.
  • Responsible for distribution of MTS adjustments and follow through with evaluators for timely processing.
  • Prepare clear technically sound, accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.
  • Responsible for review and understanding of all new information distributed by senior officers in the Registrar’s office.
  • Share responsibility of operations and coverage.
  • Communicate both orally and in writing with a broad constituency that includes University officials, alumni, staff members and students.
  • Regularly evaluate processes with the goal toward improvement.
  • Work on Registrar’s office operations calendar toward continuous process improvements.
  • Run Cognos reports, use DW, Banner and/or 25 LIVE, CIM, CLSS schedule, Workday and other software as needed.
  • Attend and participate in assigned meetings.
  • Attention to timely response to all emails and phone inquiries at intervals as determined by the University Registrar.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
