About The Position

Applicants seeking short-term or part-time work with the University of Hawaii may apply for Casual Hire appointments, which include administrative, professional, and technical (APT) or instructional-type positions. Because of the temporary nature of these appointments, Casual Hire employees are not eligible for most benefits provided to regular Board of Regents or Civil Service employees. Casual Hire appointments may last for up to 89 days for full-time employees, and up to 1 calendar year for part-time employees.

Requirements

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in Business Administration, Education, Counseling, Social Sciences, Humanities, Liberal Studies, or a related field or equivalent education/training or experience.
  • A Copy of your academic transcript(s) appropriate to the position are required to be attached in order to verify all courses completed and/or degree conferred (unofficial transcripts are acceptable; copies of diplomas will NOT be accepted). Official transcripts are required at the time of hire.
  • Statement outlining how you meet minimum (and desirable, if applicable) qualification.
  • Names and contact information of three (3) references familiar with your job performance.
  • Resume.
  • All minimum qualifications must be met by the closing date.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Admissions and Records office operations comply with UH System, State of Hawaii, and federal rules and regulations related to admissions, registration, Veteran’s Administration benefits, international student requirements, and the creation, maintenance, and access to student educational records.
  • Analyze data, service outcomes, workflow issues, and compliance requirements to identify and implement improvements that strengthen Admissions and Records operations and support institutional goals.
  • Prepare and disseminate communications related to admissions, registration, student educational records, Veteran’s Administration benefits, and other Admissions and Records functions.
  • Assist with end-of-term processing and the creation, maintenance, and verification of student educational records.
  • Assist with the transmission of student data to the National Clearinghouse in accordance with UH System and Hawaii Community College protocols and deadlines.
  • Review and update admissions, registration, and student records information in the college catalog, college website, and other media to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Review, update, and support the student degree audit system to ensure it accurately reflects approved program changes, course substitutions, waivers, and degree requirements.
  • Assist the student degree audit system builder and the Counseling, Advising, and Student Support Center with monitoring registration error logs and troubleshooting registration errors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
