About The Position

Henry Ford College presents an opportunity for an Assistant Registrar for Student Systems and Analytics. Reporting to the Registrar, this position provides operational leadership for the College’s student information systems, registration technologies, and related data processes. The role ensures reliable, compliant, and student-centered academic records and registration services by overseeing system functionality, data integrity, reporting, and continuous process improvement. Working collaboratively across academic and administrative areas, the Assistant Registrar advances institutional effectiveness through the strategic use of technology and analytics across the student lifecycle. This position serves as a functional expert and campus partner supporting enrollment management, student success initiatives, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in registration, academic records, student systems administration, information technology systems operations or related higher education experience
  • Demonstrated experience managing enterprise systems, operational workflows, and data processes
  • Thorough and applied knowledge of FERPA and federal and state regulatory reporting requirements
  • Ability to analyze operational data and translate findings into process improvements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across academic and administrative departments
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline-driven regulatory environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Demonstrated ability to use complex analytic judgment and ingenuity to plan and perform difficult work where only general methods may be available.
  • Demonstrated ability to create new processes and procedures where existing methods do not exist, mainly focused on analyzing new external mandates and internal priorities to develop accurate and efficient responses.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and support student information systems and related technologies within a college or university environment to ensure operational effectiveness, data integrity, and student success.
  • Support and enhance degree audit, curriculum management, academic scheduling, and related student systems processes to promote efficient academic operations and compliance.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver training materials, user guides, procedural documentation, and technical resources for internal stakeholders and end users.
  • Support operational, analytical, compliance, accreditation, state, and federal reporting requirements through accurate data management and systems utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments and stakeholders in the planning, implementation, testing, enhancement, and support of student systems projects, process improvements, and technology initiatives.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and training to faculty and staff on registration policies, procedures, and system use
  • Monitors data integrity and implements process improvements to enhance service efficiency and accuracy
  • Coordinates transcript services and vendor partnerships to improve service delivery
  • Participates in development and documentation of registration policies and operational procedures
  • Supports assessment and continuous improvement initiatives within the Registrar’s Office
  • Provides functional guidance and training to assigned staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Coverage of late service hours is shared between the Assistant Registrars, with each position assigned one evening schedule per week.
