About The Position

Henry Ford College presents an opportunity for an Assistant Registrar for Student Records and Success Operations. Reporting to the Registrar, this position provides operational leadership for academic records processing, student academic standing workflows, and Registrar service delivery functions. The role ensures accurate, timely, and student-centered records administration across the student lifecycle, including academic progression, graduation, and institutional compliance processes. Working collaboratively with academic and student services departments, the Assistant Registrar supports enrollment management, student persistence, and policy implementation through effective operational practices. This position serves as a functional lead responsible for coordinating staff workflows, interpreting academic regulations, and advancing continuous service improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in registration, academic records, or higher education student services operations
  • Experience coordinating operational workflows or staff assignments in a service environment
  • Thorough and applied knowledge of FERPA and academic policy compliance
  • Ability to interpret academic regulations and apply them to student cases
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across academic and administrative departments
  • Ability to manage cyclical deadlines in a high-volume service environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information
  • Demonstrates ability and concern for delivering exceptional service to internal and external customers. Establishes and maintains effective relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily academic records processing and operational workflows within the Registrar’s Office
  • Coordinates academic standing processes including probation, dismissal, and academic eligibility determinations
  • Manages and oversees operational processing and data integration between the College’s student information system (Colleague) and curriculum/course scheduling management platform (Coursedog) to support accurate course scheduling, registration, and academic records processes.
  • Manages graduation certification and commencement coordination
  • Interprets and applies academic policies and regulations to student cases and appeals
  • Serves as the primary operational liaison between the Registrar’s Office and academic departments
  • Provides guidance and training to staff regarding procedures, regulations, and service standards
  • Monitors service delivery to ensure timely and accurate records administration
  • Supports dual enrollment and external partner records coordination
  • Assists in development and documentation of policies and operational procedures
  • Participates in assessment and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Coordinates operational communications to students and campus partners
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, qualified or trained to perform.
