About The Position

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is seeking an experienced and collaborative professional to serve as Assistant Registrar for Curriculum Management. This position plays a critical role in advancing effective curriculum operations by leading college-level curriculum management, catalog administration, policy compliance, and process improvement initiatives. The Assistant Registrar serves as the functional lead for curriculum-related registrar operations within CALS. This position ensures that curriculum data, course approvals, catalog content, degree requirement coding, governance actions, and related student-facing processes are accurate, timely, compliant, and aligned with university, state, federal, and accrediting requirements. The Assistant Registrar works closely with faculty, academic departments, curriculum committees, college leadership, and university partners to support thoughtful curriculum development and continuous improvement. This role provides expertise in curriculum policy interpretation, governance processes, and systems coordination while helping translate academic goals into compliant, student-centered, and operationally effective solutions.

  • A Bachelor's degree and 2–3 years of progressive experience in a student services, registrar, or academic program management environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field.
  • Direct experience in a college or university registrar's office.
  • Experience with curriculum management software (e.g., CIM/CourseLeaf) and catalog publishing platforms.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Stellic, Salesforce, or equivalent student information systems.
  • Experience with data reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, ad hoc query tools).
  • Knowledge of NYSED, SUNY, Middle States, and/or federal Title IV regulatory requirements as they apply to academic records and curriculum.
  • Experience facilitating faculty or academic governance committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand curriculum holistically, including relationships among courses, programs, degree requirements, policies, and student pathways.
  • Comfort providing constructive feedback and recommending changes to established practices in a collaborative, faculty-centered environment.
  • Experience working directly with faculty or academic leadership on curriculum design, revision, or academic governance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum operations for CALS, including course proposal management, curriculum governance support, catalog updates, and curricular compliance review.
  • Interpret and apply institutional policies, academic regulations, and external requirements to support effective curriculum decision-making.
  • Coordinate curriculum systems and processes that impact degree audits, enrollment, reporting, and student academic pathways.
  • Partner with faculty, course coordinators, academic leaders, and governance groups to facilitate curriculum development and implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Office of the University Registrar, Enrollment Compliance and Design, Institutional Research and Planning, and other campus partners to ensure accurate and consistent curriculum information.
  • Analyze curriculum data and workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency, and enhanced service delivery.
  • Support the adoption of curriculum-related technologies, development of training resources, and implementation of new or revised processes.
  • Contribute to staff development and training for registrar team members.
