About The Position

The Assistant Property Manager is responsible for maintaining multifamily communities to a market-ready standard and ensuring a high level of service. The role assists the Property Manager with overall property operations, resident and prospect service, team performance, leasing and marketing, and community finances. It also helps maintain a positive living environment through prompt conflict resolution and follow-up, while ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, technical school, or vocational school education required.
• At least 3 years of property management experience.
• At least 1 year of management experience.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation.
• General office, bookkeeping, and sales skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage a team.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help ensure the smooth operation of the community in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with property operations, including maintenance, capital improvements, lease administration, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, collections, evictions, vacancy anticipation, marketing, lease renewals, service contracts, expense control, and audits.
• Help provide superior customer service and communication to residents and prospects to improve satisfaction, renewals, revenue, reputation, and profitability.
• Complete lease and renewal paperwork in accordance with company standards.
• Track and evaluate advertising and client traffic.
• Model the company mission and support the team in delivering on it.
• Assist with day-to-day operations of the on-site team and ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Interview, hire, and coach staff as needed to maintain an effective on-site team.
• Maintain residents’ files according to company standards.
• Promote a positive living environment through prompt conflict resolution and consistent follow-up.
• Manage and maintain community budgets and finances.
• Work with leasing staff to meet leasing and marketing goals.
• Assess staff leasing opportunities and set goals to improve individual performance.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.
