About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support large-scale utility construction projects. In this role, you will work alongside the Project Manager and Construction Program Management team to coordinate project activities, monitor schedules and budgets, prepare reports, and ensure successful project execution from planning through completion. Candidates with utility construction experience are highly preferred, with gas utility experience being a strong advantage.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 2+ years of technical/project experience , OR 5+ years of project, engineering, construction, or technical experience.
  • Experience working as an: Assistant Project Manager, Construction Manager, Project Engineer II, Senior Project Developer, or similar project coordination role.
  • Experience supporting construction or utility projects.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Experience with project scheduling, cost tracking, project controls, and risk management.
  • Experience using Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and meet project deadlines.
  • Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Project Manager with planning, coordinating, and executing utility construction projects.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and overall project performance.
  • Prepare project reports, including weekend coverage reports and project accrual reports.
  • Provide technical and IT support to the Construction Coordinator team.
  • Assist in developing project policies, procedures, and training documentation.
  • Coordinate project resources, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Support project risk management, cost management, procurement, scheduling, and quality initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation within Project Management Information Systems (PMIS).
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company project management standards.
  • Support effective communication between project teams, contractors, and business stakeholders.
