About The Position

Knobelsdorff is seeking an organized and driven Assistant Project Manager to provide daily execution support for the Project Management Organization. This role works closely with the Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Construction Manager to ensure daily project administrative requirements are completed accurately and efficiently. The Assistant Project Manager will support project documentation, scheduling, productivity tracking, procurement coordination, financial documentation, safety communication, and overall project execution. This position requires strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills to help ensure projects are completed accurately, on time, and within budget.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Project Management, Construction Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with basic project and construction administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be available to travel extensively, since this will require you to be onsite full time, must be open to travel 100%, including overnight stays for up to weeks at a time if required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a history of safe and competent driving.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside and take direction from the Project and Field Management teams.
  • Assist with project documentation distributed and/or received from project teams, including construction documents, RFIs, safety documents, closeout documents, and related materials.
  • Attend project team meetings, take meeting minutes, and assist with creating and distributing project communications.
  • Support development and regular management of the project schedule and track productivity to ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Assist with managing and reporting scheduled construction activities to help keep projects on schedule.
  • Support the project team with project changes by coordinating and communicating information related to change orders, bulletins, addendums, and design changes.
  • Create, prepare, and coordinate reports, trackers, deliverables, status reports, and other project materials as needed.
  • Assist with procurement of major materials and rental items, including electrical equipment and machinery.
  • Assist with management and documentation of financial items related to the project, including project expenses, equipment rentals, labor costs, and subcontractor expenses.
  • Assist the project team with communication of safety audits, incident and injury reports, and correction notices.
  • Assist with preconstruction preparation, coordination, and handoff.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Travel as needed and work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
