About The Position

Mooring is a third-generation, family-owned Disaster Restoration and Commercial Construction company. We are trusted professionals serving major industries across the continental United States. Based out of our Austin, TX office, the Assistant Project Manager will assist with high-visibility commercial construction and reconstruction projects, mentor project teams, and help oversee operations across all phases—from initial planning through final execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related technical field; equivalent industry experience will be considered
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in commercial construction coordination, document control, or project engineering preferred
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead material procurement process end-to-end, including vendor coordination, quantity verification, and on-time delivery to jobsite
  • Manage submittal log and document control, ensuring all submittals, RFIs, ASIs, and field modifications are electronically filed and distributed to affected parties
  • Compose and issue RFIs to the design team, verify accuracy and conciseness, and track responses through to resolution
  • Conduct jobsite safety walks, take milestone photos, assist superintendents with layout and dimensional verifications, and participate in schedule and subcontractor meeting
  • Coordinate project closeout including punch list management, attic stock delivery, owner training documentation, and archive of project files
  • Review subcontractor billings and change requests with the project management team; verify validity of requests against contract documents
  • Maintain and distribute OAC, staff, and preconstruction meeting minutes; manage action items and follow up on outstanding items
  • Read and understand contract and specification requirements including RFI procedures, substitution procedures, submittal package requirements, and pre-construction meeting obligations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
