About The Position

Christman Facility Solutions is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer Intern for its Summer 2027 internship program in the Dallas, Texas region. The internship gives undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about different building types and project delivery methods while gaining on-the-job experience in the markets the company serves.

The intern provides administrative and technical support to the project team, assisting with project documentation, cost tracking, scheduling, inspections, drawing updates, daily reports, and safety initiatives. The role also involves participating in project meetings and supporting project quality and safety practices.

Requirements

• Be an active, full-time sophomore-, junior-, or senior-level student pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Have a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work or internship experience in the commercial construction industry.
• Participation in and/or leadership roles in student organizations or extracurricular club activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and technical support to the project team.
• Assist with Requests for Information (RFIs), document control and management, submittal creation and tracking, cost tracking, and schedule updates.
• Summarize discussions, questions, and decisions from project team, owner, and weekly subcontractor meetings.
• Read and understand specification books to help ensure compliance and project quality.
• Assist the Project Manager with identifying required inspections, creating a project-specific inspection log, establishing relationships with inspectors, scheduling inspections, and ensuring readiness for inspections.
• Assist with updating contract drawings to reflect approved changes and ensure trade contractor documents are updated.
• Assist Superintendents with daily reports and manage progress and quality photos.
• Model safety awareness and planning, observe safety practices, and report concerns to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager.
• Support logistics for safety initiatives included in the site-specific safety plan.
