About The Position

The Transitional Living Program/Maternity Group Home (TLP/MGH) helps young people through a wide range of programs and services that help build resiliency and provide the necessary tools to help youth heal and grow into healthy, productive adults. This is a Full-Time, Hourly position with available shifts including Sunday, Monday, Tuesday from 2:00pm-10:00pm, Wednesday from 12:00pm-8:00pm, and Thursday from 2:00pm-10:00pm. The role is responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, training, and directing the work of staff for the day-to-day operations of the Transitional Living program. The Assistant Program Manager will address complaints and resolve problems of staff and clients as necessary. They will also assist the Youth Residential Program Manager with interviewing, disciplining, appraising performance, and rewarding the performance of assigned staff. Competitive pay is offered, including increased shift differentials.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be CPR/First Aid certified.
  • Must have Medication Technician certification.
  • Must have Safe Crisis Management certification.
  • Must have Food Handlers Permit.
  • Must have a valid Class E Drivers license.
  • Ability to type and use computer software, including Windows, Word for Windows, and EXCEL.
  • Familiar with Medical Terminology.
  • Familiar with DSM IV diagnoses.
  • Must be able to walk long distances, be able to withstand and work or adjust activities in varied weather conditions.
  • Must have ability to work a flexible schedule when needed/requested and meet all on-call rotation responsibilities.
  • Must be at least 20 years of age.
  • Pass a background check and Family Care Safety Registry screening.
  • Pass fingerprint screen.
  • Pass drug screen.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Requires CPR, Med Tech Certification and Chauffeur’s License within 30 days from the date of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • An advanced degree in social work or a comparable human service field and at least two years of direct care experience in human services.
  • A bachelor’s degree in social work or a comparable human service field and four years of direct care experience in human services.

Responsibilities

  • Models safe, respectful boundaries in accordance with Synergy Services, Inc. policies, procedures, and philosophies.
  • Assist the Youth Residential Program Manager with directing the provision of treatment services for youth participating in the TLP/MGH program.
  • Provides weekly one on one input to assigned staff.
  • Document client information in Client Progress Notes and files as needed.
  • First responder to calls from youth from the program and handles office voice mail as needed.
  • Assists with coordinating resources and services for program youth as needed.
  • Responds to referrals calls for the program; conducts pre-placement interviews and intakes as appropriate.
  • Meet with youth from the program as necessary.
  • Handle a caseload as necessary.
  • Assists the TLP/MGH Program Manager with assuring that adequate staffing levels occur by hiring programmatic staff.
  • In collaboration with the TLP/MGH Residential Program Manager performs annual appraisals and assist in salary review recommendations.
  • Documents personnel issues as necessary.
  • Assists with budgetary oversight for programmatic budget.
  • Assists the TLP/MGH Residential Program Manager with monitoring of the program checkbook.
  • Serves in on-call rotation (on-call support).
  • Develops and implements plans for staff development and training of new employees, students, and volunteers.
  • Assures that critical learning and experience has been received by the end of training.
  • Attends community youth-oriented agency meetings.
  • Performs agency, business and school related groups and presentations for agency and TLP/MGH program.
  • Initiates needed tasks for completion.
  • Accepts other cooperative duties as needed.
  • Maintains client confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Networks with community and other organizations for resources.
  • Facilitates and attends staff meetings.
  • Communicates consistently and regularly with Youth Residential Program Manager, other agency and community staff.
  • Documents and follows all protocol per the Transitional Living SOPs, completing all logs and paperwork required for the program.
  • Participation in Performance and Quality Improvement activity is required by each employee.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Directly supervises and trains assigned employees as well as volunteers and work study workers in the Transitional Living program.
  • Direct supervisory responsibilities include the scheduling, planning, assigning, and directing of work of assigned staff.
  • Will address complaints and resolve problems of staff and clients as necessary.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Assists the Youth Residential Program Manager with responsibilities including interviewing and hiring staff, appraising performance, and rewarding and disciplining employees.
