About The Position

Step into a leadership role where purpose meets impact! We’re looking for an Assistant Program Manager who will play a key role in shaping and delivering dynamic youth programs that empower young people to thrive. You’ll help lead day-to-day operations, support staff excellence, and drive innovative, relationship-centered services that make a meaningful difference in the community. Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will be supporting the effective operation and continuous improvement of youth programs by ensuring compliance with organizational policies, legislation, and professional standards. This role contributes to program planning, staff supervision, service delivery, and evaluation to meet client needs and funder requirements. Responsibilities also include supporting staff development, assisting with administrative and financial processes, maintaining accurate and confidential records, coordinating referrals, and contributing to reporting, funding proposals, and program goals. The role also ensures health and safety standards are upheld, maintains strong knowledge of community resources and youth services, and steps in for the Program Manager when needed to ensure seamless program continuity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong leadership experience, preferably within a non-profit setting.
  • Experience supervising teams in unionized and non-unionized environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of youth issues, Indigenous communities, and substance use.
  • Required certifications such as First Aid/CPR.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strengths-based, team-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic environments.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations with sound judgment.
  • Ability to contribute to innovative program development.
  • Strong financial, administrative, and technological competencies.
  • Undergo a Police Information Check (PIC).
  • Undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
