About The Position

The Center for Youth is dedicated to partnering with young people to help them reach their full potential by creating opportunities, removing barriers, and promoting social justice. The organization values diversity and inclusivity. The Counseling and Runaway and Homeless Youth (RHY) Department offers a comprehensive range of services to vulnerable youth, including crisis nurseries, an emergency shelter, housing programs, a food and clothing pantry, street outreach, and support for victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The Transitional Living Program (TLP) Assistant Manager is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for assisting the Program Manager in overseeing operations and programming for the TLP, which includes group living and apartment models. The role involves engaging youth from a strengths-based perspective, building trusting relationships, and supporting them in developing independent living skills and addressing the issues that led to their homelessness to achieve stable housing. The position requires staff supervision and training, administrative duties, life skills training, and direct client care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Service or related field AND 5 years' relevant experience with 1 year management or supervisor experience OR equivalent combination
  • Driver's license
  • Strong Knowledge of child and adolescent development
  • Knowledge of youth serving systems
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent literacy and communication skills
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities
