About The Position

The Lipscomb Anesthesiologist Assistant Studies Program is a 28-month Master of Science in Anesthesiology degree program dedicated to training Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants. This dynamic program is launching in August 2026 with an inaugural cohort of 24 students and is working toward initial accreditation through the Accreditation Review Commission for the Anesthesiologist Assistant (ARC-AA). The Assistant Program Director - Didactic & Curriculum will play a critical role in establishing and implementing the academic foundation of this new program. This position will work closely with the Program Director to develop curriculum, deliver didactic instruction, and support the program's pursuit of ARC-AA accreditation. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced CAA educator to help build a program from the ground up and shape the next generation of anesthesia providers.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Anesthesiology or related field
  • Current certification as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA)
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a CAA
  • Demonstrated commitment to education and the advancement of the CAA profession
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of clinical experience as a CAA
  • Prior academic teaching or educational experience
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • Familiarity with ARC-AA accreditation standards and processes
  • Passion for mentorship and student development

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of didactic curriculum aligned with ARC-AA accreditation standards
  • Deliver high-quality classroom instruction across various courses in the anesthesiology curriculum
  • Collaborate with faculty and clinical partners to ensure curriculum integration between didactic and clinical components
  • Engage in program assessment activities and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in student assessment, evaluation, and academic advising
  • Support student success through mentorship and academic guidance
  • Contribute to student recruitment, admissions, and orientation activities
  • Contribute to accreditation documentation, self-study preparation, and ongoing compliance with ARC-AA standards
  • Track and report program outcomes and metrics as needed
  • Participate in accreditation reviews and site visits
  • Maintain part-time clinical practice through Lipscomb partnership opportunities
  • Serve on program and college committees as assigned
