About The Position

The School of Analytics, Finance, and Economics at Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Business Analytics. This is a continuing, tenure-track, nine-month appointment beginning August 10, 2027. The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate Business Analytics courses, including online graduate Analytics courses; conduct scholarly research; and provide School and University service appropriate to academic rank. Applicants should demonstrate strong potential for research leading to publications in high-quality journals and for effective teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, with consideration for internal equity. Application review begins December 1, 2027, and continues until the position is filled. If a candidate has not completed all doctoral requirements by the appointment date, the University may offer a nine-month, term, non-tenure-track Instructor appointment in accordance with University policy.

Requirements

• PhD in Business Analytics or a related discipline, including Economics. ABD applicants will be considered if all PhD requirements will be completed by August 10, 2027.
• Demonstrate strong potential to conduct research leading to publications in high-quality journals.
• Demonstrate potential to effectively teach Business Analytics courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Submit a letter of application, curriculum vita, transcripts, a job market paper, and three references.
