About The Position
Michigan State University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Economics to join their faculty. This tenure-track position involves teaching second-year graduate courses on numerical methods (EC 825A) and undergraduate courses on international trade (EC 34). The role also requires conducting pathbreaking research in international economics, mentoring graduate students, and actively participating in departmental activities such as attending seminars and serving on administrative committees. The position's duties are allocated as 50% research, 40% teaching, and 10% outreach and service. This is a union position represented by the Union of Tenure System Faculty (UTSF), and the university is working with the union to establish a collective bargaining agreement.
