About The Position

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a dedicated and experienced inpatient psychiatrist to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to adolescents aged 12–17 experiencing mental health crises in an Adolescent Inpatient Unit at the College Hill campus. The campus has 83 private patient rooms, and the unit stabilizes patients through therapeutic and medical treatments, including group therapy, music therapy, and occupational therapy. The facility includes private patient rooms and therapeutic spaces. The role includes diagnosing and treating a wide range of mental health conditions, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care. Clinicians may be asked to work at locations outside the Burnet Campus as Cincinnati Children’s expands its regional, national, and international presence.

Requirements

Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
Valid medical license to practice in Ohio.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for inpatient admissions.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for acute psychiatric conditions.
Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, primary care providers, and other multidisciplinary team members.
Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and family consultations.
Maintain accurate and timely medical records.
Engage in ongoing professional development and stay current with advancements in the field.
Work at locations outside the Burnet Campus when asked.
