The Department of Art at The University of Central Oklahoma, a NASAD-accredited department, is inviting applications for a full-time, one-year, temporary Assistant Professor position in Drawing and Printmaking beginning August 2026. The Department seeks a candidate with a strong studio and teaching emphasis in drawing and printmaking with a contemporary fine arts approach. The ideal candidate will be able to approach drawing/printmaking in a contemporary manner while emphasizing strong formal, technical, and conceptual skills as well as guide senior drawing students in their capstone projects. This expertise should be reflected in their CV and portfolios. Position Overview: Teaches, advises, and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. Adheres to the university's educational philosophy. Works collaboratively with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the UCO Faculty Handbook. Faculty are expected to support & facilitate the department/school/college academic and university missions, visions, & long-term goals.
