About The Position

The Department of Political Science and Public Affairs at the University of Central Oklahoma seeks to appoint a full-time, temporary one-year faculty member for the Master of Public Administration program. This position is in Public Administration and involves teaching, advising, and mentoring students at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Requirements

• An earned doctorate, such as a Ph.D., D.P.A., and/or J.D., in any sub-field related to public administration, political science, or similar field. The degree must be from a regionally accredited or an internationally recognized institution (exceptions require approval from the UCO Office of Academic Affairs).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated excellence in teaching

Responsibilities

• Teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies.
• Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university.
• Works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers.
• Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty.
• Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested.
• Prepares departmental reports as requested.
• Teaches political science and public administration courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
• Must be willing to teach in a variety of instructional formats (in-person, hybrid, and online) as needed and appropriate.
• Advises and mentors students; engages in service on the department, college, and university levels.
